The Straits Times in Singapore recently published an article about the work of Debby Ng in Nepal. Debby has been supported by the Rufford Small Grants Programme. She is looking at the issue of the control of feral dog populations which currently has an impact on the local wildlife. Illegal poisoning using chemicals such as strychnine can have severe impact on species such as vultures that feed on carcasses. Debby is promoting safer alternatives to controlling dog populations in collaboration with local communities.
