Assessing Species-Specific Responses and Adaptability of Grassland Bird Communities to Wind Farm Establishment

Arjun Kannan

Open habitat ecosystems are increasingly being taken over by wind energy farms as a result of the push towards green energy. But there is a dearth of information on how wind farm establishments affect bird communities, especially in tropical grasslands.

Thus, this study proposes to understand bird species responses to wind farms in grassland ecosystems of south India. Information from this study can help suggest mitigation measures based on specificities of the site, type of wind farm and species adaptations.
