Monitoring and Conservation of Small Wild Cats in Human Mediated Landscapes in Hill Country, Sri Lanka
Our study focuses on conservation and research of carnivores in central hills of Sri Lanka. The study is proposed to be carried out in human-dominated landscapes in central province by using camera trapping, local interviews, and collaboration with government authorities.
We will observe species-species relationships, human-carnivore interactions, threats, and behaviours of carnivores in anthropogenic landscapes. The study aims to implement specific threat mitigation methods while continuously monitoring to conserve these species through community enrichment, increasing tolerance and raising awareness.
