Promoting Environmental Friendly Livelihood Alternatives to Support Marine Conservation Efforts in the Trao Reef Marine Reserve Khanh Hoa
Conservation of Tam Hai's coral reef biodiversity through community-based coral transplantation in Quang Nam province.
This project aims to facilitate the restoration of the remaining coral reef of Trao Reef Locally Managed Marine Reserve, the first of its kind in Vietnam, through a pilot “coral reef rehabilitation” model.
The activities conducted shall be based on local participation and actively encourage it. They will teach the community more about the resources in their care and demonstrate how with the correct balance, humans and nature can work together for mutual benefit. It is hoped that the implementation of this project will provide a new direction for coral reef conservation across Vietnam.
