The main objective of the current project is to build up fences along these sectors to protect the fauna.
In 2003 the BHS carried out a survey aiming at the appraisal of the impact upon the small animals of the international road E-79 in the sector of reserve Tissata. The killed animals were counted every week and data based. After processing the information it became evident which sections of the road are more suitable for the small animals to cross and hence need special protective measures. The main objective of the current project is to build up fences along these sectors to protect the fauna. Traffic signs will be set up to pay attention to drivers that animals pass through the road regularly.
