14 Aug 2002 Ilalo Mountain, Ecuador, Central and Latin America Forests
This project is working to reforest areas of Ilalo Mountain, an extinct volcano near Quito, Ecuador, and to save species potentially in danger of extinction.
By propagating tree species surviving in primary forest remnants, the team aims to regenerate the original forest which formerly would have covered Ilalo Mountain, an extinct volcano near Quito, Ecuador.
They are currently reforesting two properties totaling 15 hectares currently managed by the Foundation, and are also establishing a botanical garden to house species potentially in danger of extinction, rescued from Andean forest relics elsewhere in Ecuador.
