A 2nd RSG Grant has been given to the team to expand the previous work in Tasikmalaya, West Java funded by the Rufford Small Grants. As an initial stage, priority activities are community outreach and educational programmes for schools. The aim is to build a self-reliant community on marine turtle conservation and management along the south coast of Tasikmalaya. The local stakeholders will have capability and capacity to be actively participating in environmentally sound decision-making. This project will prepare the local stakeholders on the establishment of a marine turtle information centre in Tasikmalaya as the follow-up project.
