The proposed area (Jangjang Village of Sindhuli district) which lies in the south-eastern part of Nepal. The village is at a distance of around 12 Kms. From the VDC headquarter and 67 Kms from the district head quarter with elevation ranging from 305 to 2787 metres, the Mahabharata hill range runs across the village. Endowed with tropical and evergreen forests the village is host to a variety of flora and fauna and holds some of the rear and endangered species. Besides being of a high aesthetic value, the dense forests of the village have been instrumental in maintaining environmental balance. Several wild animals share the forests as their common habitat.

In spite of being endowed with biodiversity, the wildlife has come under constant extreme pressure owing to a number of factors. Due to the first RSG project, they are managing under community forestry program. So, this forest area could be developed for both conservation as well as their livelihood by proper strategy. Capacity of community forest users' and local stakeholders for conservation friendly forest management, advocacy for conservation and institutional strengthening of local level stakeholders has been increased but not sufficient by the first RSG project. To continue first RSG project we plan to develop NTFP-based enterprise development which is a feasible as well as a desirable strategy for increasing rural incomes from community forestry.

In order to have NTFP-based enterprise development, sustainable community forest management incorporating the conservation and commercial utilization of potential products (NTFPs) is necessary as a pre-condition. For this purpose local stakeholders will harvest the NTFPs that promotes the biodiversity as well as income generation by the second RSG project. It will have developed its long term commitment for biodiversity conservation in the area.
