The project is initiated to promote the conservation of Seblat as an area of important biodiversity. We also aim to campaign for the inclusion of the region adjacent to the area as a wildlife corridor linking Seblat to Kerinci Seblat National Park in order to increase the wildlife biodiversity of both.

The region of Seblat in Bengkulu province (west-south of Sumatra island) illustrates how the expansion of oil palm plantations and uncontrolled logging/encroachment is driving the province’s largest elephant habitat to the brink of extinction

Through this project, we see an urgent need to disseminate easily accessible information, especially at a provincial level, to raise public awareness. In this initiative, we will collect, provide and disseminate data and information. Some of this information will be presented as a short documentary where it will be broadcast on Bengkulu TV, a popular local TV station well respected in the area
