Kim Hy Natural reserve was established in 2003, it is located in Na Ri district, Bac Kan province. It covers 14.772 ha, and most of them are limestone forest. There are 789 vascular plant species have been recorded in the area, 35 of them are listed in the Red data book of Vietnam. The most famous and threatened species in the protected area is Keteleeria davidiana (Pinaceae). This species is not only high conservation value, but also high economic value. However, there is limited information of this species. The project will be a very significant contribution for conservation of Keteleeria davidiana not only in Vietnam but also in the world. The project will focus on study ecology, habitat, distribution of this species; we also try to study propagation.

/ To provide information of morphology, ecology, habitat, population and distribution of Keteleeria davidiana (Pinaceae) in Vietnam.

/ To provide information of conservation status of this species in Vietnam

/ Result of propagation of this species.

/ To collect specimens and take pictures of this species

/ Presentation of the result of study to students and staff in the Vietnam Forestry University and protected area.

/ Increase awareness on conservation of Keteleeria davidiana in particular and biodiversity in general for staff and local people in Kim Hy natural reserve and researchers and students at the Vietnam Forestry University
