Capacity building in Namibia for disease monitoring using black backed jackals as a model species for transmission of fatal diseases to endangered carnivores
This project addresses the crucial importance of disease monitoring for carnivore conservation and the lack of local expertise, by training Namibian students in methodologies of disease monitoring and disease ecology in carnivores. It is in conjunction with leading local NGOs and utilizes the infrastructure and knowledge base of an existing project, the Institute of Zoology Jackal project.
