Assessment of Habitat Preferences and Distribution Patterns of Leopard in Mole National Park; A Baseline for their Conservation

Leopards and other carnivores are exposed to high levels of poaching for bush meat and body parts trading because of the low presence of law enforcement staff, reprisal killing and inadequate participatory management of the MNP with park-fringing communities.

The project objective is to ensure effective protection of leopards in collaboration with park-fringing communities that benefit people and wildlife. This will be through the use of the CREMA to provide refresher trainings for their nature-based sustainable livelihoods, agroforestry systems and strengthened conservation education and awareness creation.
