The Honorary Rangers Rapid Action Team (RATS) provides support for an over-stretched wildlife authority. RATS offers training, education and employment to individuals from the local communities and encourages improved environmental and wildlife conservation practices.
The aim of the Honorary Rangers Rapid Action Team (RATS) is to provide support for an overstretched wildlife authority. Working alongside, and sometimes in place of, National Parks staff, RATS supply logistical and personnel back up in the fight against poaching and snaring in and around South Luangwa National Park, Zambia.
In an area of limited opportunity RATS provide training, education and employmentto individuals from the local communities. Our objectives are to establish an effective anti-poaching body and to encourage improved environmental and wildlife conservation practices among the main stakeholders of the area, the Zambian people themselves.
