The Conservation of Endangered Hornbills in Kenyir Malaysia II

From the previous grant, we identified and worked with four hornbill guardians (indigenous villagers) to help monitor the nests of endangered hornbills.

Through their work on the ground, they have also located and geotagged 37 potential tree cavities that could be restored through basic carpentry work for the endangered hornbills to use as their nests. We also seek to introduce at least one artificial nest box in Malaysia. We will also be investigating and understanding the diet of the hornbills. We plan to also grow hornbill preferred food plants from seeds collected from under hornbill nests.
