This project is focused on the conservation of Egyptian Vulture in Azerbaijan. Nakhchivan Autonomy Republic and Gobustan regions were selected for the project as the most likely places of key species distribution.

The project will continue in 12 months and help to fill the gaps of data on the number and distribution of the Egyptian Vulture in Azerbaijan. Obtained data will help to raise of researched level of this species in Azerbaijan. Providing the exact number of the vulture’s pairs will contribute to a more efficient work on the vulture’s conservation by helping international institutions to set the right priorities. The detection of threats for the Egyptian Vulture is relevant for nature protection in rural areas generally. In the majority of cases the threats are caused by humans.
